What this experience is like in depth

Curanderismo is a spiritual and contemplative practice. It is a living folk healing lineage passed within Latin American communities, blending Indigenous, Spanish Catholic, and African elements. It works with the understanding that healing is not only about insight but also about what is felt, witnessed, and released in the body, relationships, and environment. In a session, a curandera may offer prayer, herbal remedies, egg cleansings (limpias con huevo), or spoken counsel depending on what you bring. You will sit or stand while herbs, oils, or a raw egg is passed near your body; you may pray, breathe, or speak. This is offered one-on-one, typically 30 to 90 minutes, and touch is optional and always negotiated. People often choose this when they are carrying Spiritual Disconnection, Grief, Family Wounds, and Identity Loss. Over time, this work can become a way of relating to yourself with less fear and more capacity.
